Is there a way to test a cat for it’s breed?
We have a cat we found as a kitten, and we know it’s probably mixed, but I was wondering if there was a way to have some sort of DNA test or something that could tell us specifically what he is, or if we just have to rely on behavior/looks to guesstimate about it…?
You will see DNA kits advertised, but they are not accurate at all. You could probably take a better guess yourself and save the money. Most cats don’t truly have a discernible breed, but if you want to try to figure it out for fun go to the cat fancier association’s website for a list of breeds.
