How long after your cats death should you get another pet?

My cat, Shadow passed away Tuesday and i miss her so much! She was my cat and i love her to death! She is a very special cat and i love her so much! She died very unexpectedly (we put her to sleep) she was my baby. She died at age 7 to kidney failure. I miss her so terribly, i feel so lonely! my dog Spencer misses her 2! i found shadow in my yard (she is a beautiful Black Cat) and i thinking i want to rescue a black cat kitten. I miss shadow so much and i feel so alone! i will never forget shadow and i love her to death! i don’t mean i want to get a cat next week maybe in a few months ? i don’t want to replace her but idk!! how long should i wait before getting a another pet? will a another kitten help me cope? will i be replacing my kitty? will she b mad?

Only you can answer that question, are you prepared and ready to accept another new pet to replace your old one that died? If yes then go for it, get another.

Don’t forget that each new pet will have a different personality to the other so don’t expect your new pet to have your old pet’s nature.

If you get a young kitten you have to spend more time with it, introducing it into your home, training it and reducing bad behaviour. Kittens are more active and tend to get into all sorts of mischief, scratch and chew on anything they see almost.

Within time though, you and your new cat will bond.

You mentioned a dog? Be careful when you introduce a young pet into the house where there are other pets, at first separate them, because the new pet has to first become familiar with it’s surroundings. Then introduce them. You don’t want to put the new pet through too much stress at first.
